I learnt about the samsung DNle and it looked quite good but I know other manufacturers has similar technology in their screens such as the bravia engine. Of course the upscaling and enhancing chips aren’t all the TV’s are about so my general question is What LCD screen manufacturer gives the best overall quality? Also can people give comparisons and pros and cons. Thanks.

LCD TVs have brought new revolution in the TV industry. Now they have largely become back bone of entertainment industry. In the current time, you will hardly found any entertainment industry or news channels where these LCD or plasma TVs are not used. These next generation TVs have the capability to deliver high-definition image quality within a thin case. Plus they are easily portable and can be placed anywhere according to your convenience.
In the market, one can find LCD TVs in different style, range and varied screen sizes. You can find Plasma TVs in 42 to 50 inch different sizes. Moreover, various manufacturers have demonstrated LCD TVs with screen sizes of up to 108 inches. Among different screen sizes, LCD TVs with screen sizes from 37-55 inches are most popular for domestic and home theater purpose. Unlike normal TVs, LCD kinds of TVs have no cathode ray tube. Cathode Ray Tube (CRT) is a gun which hastily shoots out electrons at the façade of a usual TV. Due to this, the electrons hit a surface which shines or glimmers, creating a pixel on TV screens.
LCD TVs are bright screened and work better in bright rooms so it’s appropriate if the room is lit brightly. LCD TVs appear brighter, so the screen won’t wash out in daylight. LCD televisions seem to emit rays that are strong when in a darker room. Many LCD screens have an adjustable backlight, so you can control the brightness of the screen. Some high-end LCD TVs use LED backlighting instead of the more typical cold cathode fluorescent lamp backlights. These LCD TVs are better able to compete with plasma TVs.
There are various top rated brands available that provides LCD TVs and also AC/DC LCD TVs in an array of designs and price range. Among different manufacturers, Sony, Panasonic, LG and Samsung are leading LCD TV brands and have a wide product range. They differ in terms of the screen size and technical features so it’s worth having a look at the different models once you have selected the screen size. I have a xbox 360 elite system ( wireles controles) and a 55 inch 1080i HDTV and surround sound. I have the standard cables that came with the system (the ones that can be used both HD and standard). Are these the best cables I can have or are there better ones? I have seen $80 cables? What will give me the best quality?

If you have a HD DVD player but a HDTV (55 inches) that doesn’t support HDMI, can you still get HD DVD quality? I know that you won’t be able to upconvert, but I’m not worried about that.
