How do you take a lcd off a laptop, and convert it to a monitor to use for direct tv?

I know to use as a computer monitor it would converted to an analog display, but if you could convert the wires from the lcd to a s-video plug and an external power supply you should have it solved. Does anyone know how to do this? Or is this possible without to much cost? I know you can buy conversion kits for some application?

its a fragile plastic ribbon cable .. u would first need to define which leads are which and then u would need to wire it to an adapter .. not really feasible unless ur an advanced tech …
Doesn’t seem like a good idea … 15″ to 17″ LCD monitors are available at low cost.
